Our Approach

Health Center staff are central to the team that guides students as they build knowledge and make decisions about nutrition, activity, relationships, and preventative practices, as students develop habits for a healthy future. Students are always encouraged to come to the health center, during a free block, to talk about any and all health issues including physical, emotional, and psychological well-being.

Our office is open Monday-Saturday 7:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m.-3 p.m. and is staffed by RNs. Any hours we are not open, we have a RN on call for emergencies. Our health center is licensed for overnight beds in the event our Medical Director feels a student needs to be observed overnight. Our staff are all very qualified to assess and treat our students but when they feel a student may need additional care, our Medical Director is onsite Monday-Friday to assess and treat any student and on call after hours.

We have two licensed counselors on staff who have offices in the Tracy Health Center and Miller Bicentennial Hall. They support our staff after hours for any psychological emergency. They are available to assist our students with everyday decisions, triage during potential mental health emergencies, refer families to local therapists, psychologists, nutritionists, and more.

Our office works closely with the Sports Medicine office to coordinate the assessment and care of our student athletes.

Students requiring professional medical, dental, and mental health services beyond the scope of the Tracy Health Center are referred to nearby hospitals including, Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and Alice Peck Day Hospital, and other community health offices.

If your student is in need of a specialist while at school please contact the Health Center so that we may assist in making referrals (dermatology, psychology, podiatry, etc.). The nursing staff makes all necessary appointments and transportation arrangements for off-campus student appointments.
